Hailey

Here's another one who use to not think twice about turning her head when she saw a camera...now look where we are. We've come so far..that I was at one of her t-ball games and had intended on getting action shots...Well let me tell you, Boy did I get action, she posed and smiled so much that I eventually had to leave the field because I was distracting her. It was so funny and so darn cute.
So proud to see Hailey come out of her cocoon and start spreading her wings! Congrats Hailey on your first recital!

Only a True Princess.....

Katie, my niece, is the daughter of my sister, Christy and let me tell you there is no describing this whirlwind of a little girl. Never is there a dull moment when she is in the room, or in the next room for that matter. Katie has always been the type that hated a picture taken, in fact she would turn the other way when she saw that you had a camera. Well, along came Aunt Sinda, who was persistent as they get and eventually Katie realized that she just couldn't get rid of me.
On this day, Katie helped me unload some equipment and I had just finished some engagement pics for a great friend of mine. I was exhausted but saw right away that Katie was in rare form. Me being the photographer I am realized right away that this was a moment that should be taken advantage of. For you see, I had been wanting to do pics of Katie, with tutus and feathers and etc. and just never found the right moment to do so. WELL...this was my moment! Boy we had a blast! She posed, she danced, she smiled, she laughed, she pouted...and she was MAGNIFICIENT! I was very pleased with the end result. Keep an eye out for a few more pics to come.

Let the Journey Begin....

There comes a time in our life when we hit that point where suddenly reality hits! All of a sudden, we have grown "OLD". Well let me tell you, this year has been a slap in the face for me...from my first niece getting married, my 2nd oldest niece graduating, my little brother becoming a father, my son is getting ready for middle school, and well then there's my nephew Joshua, who just turned 13! WOW! I can remember holding him in my arms and falling asleep on the couch after dancing at one of the foot ball games. We both were out! Now he's so big, he can just about hold me. He TOWERS over me I must say! And it happened overnight it seems. Someone please stop the time...where is it going so rapidly? I am so proud of the young man he is turning out to be. I know he will continue to make us all proud. Joshua, know that Aunt Sissy loves you and couldn't be more proud of you. Work hard at all you do, trust me it pays in the end!

My first....

I look at this young girl and my eyes swell with tears. Oh, how I remember holding her in my arms as an infant. I was young, but oh so very proud to be an aunt for the very first time. When my mother was diagnosed with cancer and Lauren was near the age of 2, my brother Tyrone moved from Hattiesburg to help us. Oh the fun! I was so excited to have them there. The moment I got in from school, I couldn't wait to play with her and my little brother who was 1 at the time. There's this one picture of Lauren and I and I remember this day like it was yesterday. She sat down on the couch and put a pillow on her lap and said "Sinda lay down, I play with your hair." Needless to say...we both fell asleep, her sitting up and me lying down with my head in her lap. It's priceless. So, now I think back and realize just how much easier she made it for me, with momma being sick. It took my mind away from the reality of things. Most say I was young and didn't know what was going on. Oh trust me, I knew how she suffered, I heard her moan when she hurt. But she was tough...tough as she could be. But, Lauren was one of the things that occupied me enough to ease the sadness, and the hurt. She was my first...My first niece, the first to start school, the first to go to prom, the first to graduate, the first to college, the first to turn 16-18-21, and now the first.....the very first to become a wife. WOW! Where has all the time gone. And I must say...I worry for her, but then I see her happy, happy with her soon to be...and I am relieved. Relieved that he is her happiness. You can see it in her smile and in her eyes. For that I am proud for her. I know that this is not the last of her being my first....so for that I am blessed. To Lauren, may you always know true happiness, May you be blessed with a pure and true marriage always, & May God be a part of your marriage always. I love you and I am always here for you.

My Gavin

My son, Gavin, is the joy in my life. The moment he was born, my whole life was changed. I no longer lived for me, I began living for him. He became my life. It's amazing how I can be having an awful day and all it takes is for my son to wrap his arms around me and all else is forgotten. He's brought me so much happiness, in such a short time. It's funny how I can think back to when he was a newborn and recall every tiny little detail about him as if it were yesterday. God blessed me with a wonderful, healthy, happy son, and I am so thankful for that gift. I could not even begin to imagine my life without him. He is truly my pride and joy. My heart.

This year is bringing about many new beginnings...

Jurene my 2nd born niece is graduating from Hancock High and I am at loss for words. I am so excited for her and the road that lies before her, but at the same time I am saddened. Time has just passed in the blink of an eye, and Juren-e-Poo is all grown up. I know that she's got a bright future ahead of her. I am so very proud of who she is and the woman she is yet to be. I pray for the very best for her, she truly deserves nothing less. I love you!

Payton, Hannah, and Gavin

These three younguns are a blast to be with. They are so comical, even when they are not trying to be. Cousins. Best of pals. They hold my heart! This session was a little rushed, but it was still a blast!

Steph & Hailey

There's so much that I could say about these two. I have watched Hailey grow from a bashful, shy little girl that clings to her mommy for security to an independent, spunky, sassy, classy, cheerful, happy....young lady! She loves her mommy! Life has dealt these two a hard hand, but I honestly can say, they both have an enormous amount of inner strength. They are surrounded by so many who love them and I think that's what helps them through the hard times. Not only that, but I know they have a guardian an angel who watches over and protects them always. I am grateful to have these two in my life and to have been touched by them. Love you both.

The little things in life...

Often life gets so busy for us, that we often don't slow down and take note of the little things. Instead we focus on the bigger things and before you know it, life has passed us by. While doing this shoot on the creek of Brennan and Baleigh, it hit me. These are the little things that truly are the Big Things. Seeing him look up at his big sister and her looking down at her little brother, brought tears to my eyes. This is what life is all about. These are the moments that we will hold close to us and cherish forever. I was so blessed by capturing this moment, I just had had to share it. Slow down in life, don't let those little things pass you by.

Blake

Blake is my nephew, my brother Duke's, son. I had the privilige of attending one of his archery competition's in Gainesville, Florida. It was astounding to see him shooting his targets with such accuracy. During this competition, he had a couple shots that set him back, but he hung in there and gave it his best foot forward. I am so very proud of him.

Another one of my most favorite subjects to photograph, Kelsey. She is a complete NATURAL! She has an amazing smile, but it's the more serious moments that mesmerize me. It's those moments when the world seems to stand still and you reach this deepness in Kelsey. That's when it becomes breathtaking. I love working with her.

Baleigh

Baleigh was my start at photography, years ago. It all started just for fun, but after developing film, yes film, I realized that I had an eye for it and enjoyed it tremendously! Baleigh and I have had many more shoots and it's been an amazing journey. I love what I capture when I am with her. This is just a creative fun piece I created for her.
